"No man is an island,
entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continenteveryone needs a piece of content"
To misquote the poet John Donne, everyone needs a piece of content. Or as Bill Gates once predicted, "Content is King". It keeps our websites fresh and informative; it improves online visibility; and it helps businesses connect with their audience. Content might range from general web copy, seasonal blogs or recipes to newsletters and press releases - any written material that helps readers engage with a business or brand. But what's easy to read can be hard to write. And who has the time to run a business and write about it? Engaging, useful, accurate copy takes time and imagination. Which is where Isle of Write comes in.
So who is Isle of Write?
Ten years ago, TV Director Anna Pocock left the buzzing London media world, where she worked with Channel 4 and BBC2 on programmes like Grand Designs, River Cottage Forever and Life Laundry, and moved to the beautiful Isle of Wight with her sailing-mad husband. There she simultaneously studied an English Literature degree, started a family, and began blogging. With a love of the written word, and a mild social media addiction, she started writing for local, then national, businesses, and ran their corporate Facebook accounts. A decade on, she continues to deliver carefully crafted content to businesses far and wide (including companies in Denmark and Spain), consistently meeting agreed budgets and deadlines. She has contributed lifestyle articles to COAST Magazine and Style of Wight, written a guide book to the Isle of Wight, and most recently interviewed local food producers for the cookbook Nammet - a celebration of Isle of Wight food and drink.
